Does Appetize use emulators or physical devices?

The Appetize service is powered by Android emulators and iOS Simulators.

Emulators and simulators run your app the same way a physical device would, and mobile developers, QA engineers, and automated testing make heavy use of emulators and simulators in most companies. However, certain hardware sensors and features such as the device camera, Bluetooth, and NFC are not available. Many customers will "mock" these features if needed within Appetize.

Previously, Android physical devices were needed to run ARM-only builds, however with the launch of Android 11, ARM-only builds run smoothly in our Android 11 emulators.
